Thanking The Syrian American Community for Their Tireless Efforts and Announcing Implementation of Caesar Syria Civilian Protection Act Sanctions The Syrian American community today achieved tangible results after years of hard work and exercising their democratic rights in the United States. The White House, State Department, Treasury Department,Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chair Jim Risch, and House Foreign Affairs Committee Chair Engel all issued strong statements in support of the Syrian people. Today the State Department followed by the Treasury Department announced sweeping sanctions against Bashar Al-Assad, his wife Asma al-Assad, and 37 other designations under the Caesar Act and Executive Order 13894. “As of today, the sanctions provision of the Caesar Act are in full effect. Anyone doing business with the Assad regime, no matter where in the world they are, is potentially exposed to travel restrictions and financial sanctions.” "Many more sanctions will come until Assad and his regime stop their needless, brutal war and agree to a political solution." Looking back at 2019, with the support from the Syrian American Community, Kayla's List PAC has impacted the narrative more than ever. The contributions raised and given to support candidates made all the difference in educating those on Capitol Hill. Kayla’s List Pac, its supporters and other members of the community met with Members of the House and Senate to communicate the seriousness of the issues expressed through the Caesar Bill which was ultimately adopted into the Defense Authorization Bill. The provisions of the Caesar Bill will hold Assad and his backers in Iran and Russia accountable for the gross human rights violations against the Syrian people, and provide hope for millions who want to return to a free, stable and independent Syria. Dear Friends, It’s been some time since we’ve updated you on all the amazing outreach and events held and supported by Kayla’s List PAC. The Board Thanks you, for your continued support to Kayla’s List PAC. We could not have made the impact that we have without your generous support from across the USA. There is no substitute for our active involvement in the political process to ensure that our decision-makers are aware of the issues that affect our lives and our families as well as those in the region. Since, the inception of Kayla's List PAC, in the 2017-2018 Election Cycle the PAC contributed to 28 Candidates totaling $73,400. We have made significant progress, but there is more work to do. Dear Friends, We are proud to announce that the winner of “Kayla's List PAC’s member of the month” Award for the Month of Dec 2019 is; Dec 2019 Kayla's List PAC Member of the Month; George Stifo Chairman Senator Bob Menendez D-NJ, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer D-NY, George Stifo, Senator Richard Blumenthal D-CT and Senator Catherine Masto D-NV, Dec 2019. George Stifo was born in Qamishli, Syria. He holds a Masters Degree in Information Technology Management. He is an advisor to the Kayla PAC and has participated in meetings on behalf of the Kayla PAC with members of Congress and the Senate to help bring attention to the Caesar Bill and get it added to the NDAA. Nov 2019 Kayla Pac Member of the Month; Dr Hisham Alnachawati. Dr. Alnachawati is a Syrian American Physician from Damascus, Syria. He practices Urgent Care Medicine, Occupational & Environmental Medicine, Disability Medicine, Wound Care and Legal Medicine in both New York and New Jersey. Like many other suppressed young peers in middle east, he immigrated to United Stated pursuing advanced education and training and, seeking justice, humaneness, freedom, and liberty. October 11, 2019 - We at Kayla’s List PAC, the largest Syrian American political action committee, understand the tensions behind the operation by the Turkish Government to rid its border of YPG/PKK terrorists, and the potential grave consequences of inaction. We also know quite well that the underlying evil for this situation has been and will be the butcher of Damascus Bashar al-Assad, and until such time that he is removed there will be no resolution. We support the establishment of a safe zone in northern Syria to help the return of Syrian refugees. We support the elimination of terrorist elements from northern Syria, and consider Syrian Kurds as part of the Syrian people. United States policy to support the Marxist YPG/PKK has always been misguided, and replaced one set of problems with another. The YPG/PKK disenfranchised non-YPG/PKK Kurds and Arabs alike.
